The DCD803KN is a DeWalt XR drill driver with four interchangeable heads: a traditional metal chuck, a right angle attachment, an offset driver and a quick release bit holder. It is for kitchen fitters, cabinet makers, electricians and plumbers who work in tight spaces where a normal drill will not fit. That set of heads is what sets it apart from every other drill in our DeWalt comparison.

Our take
The four heads in practice
The right angle head with a magnetic bit holder reaches screws between joists or inside cabinet carcasses where the drill body would hit the side. The offset driver gets close to a corner or wall edge, such as when fixing a cabinet against a side panel. The quick release bit holder makes the tool short for general screwing, and the metal chuck takes round shank drill bits.
Switching heads replaces several specialist attachments or extra tools. A flexible organiser keeps the heads together and can be mounted in a workshop, and a soft bag and belt hook are also included.
Power and gearbox
DeWalt lists 73 Nm maximum torque from a brushless motor, a two speed all metal transmission and up to 1,800 rpm. That is close to the compact DCD799 and plenty for cabinet screws, hinges and general drilling in timber and metal. An LED worklight helps in dark cupboards.
There is no hammer mode, so this is not a drill for brick or block.
Bare unit with XR batteries
No battery or charger is included. DeWalt says the XR battery system covers more than 250 tools, with packs interchangeable across the range. A compact 2 Ah pack keeps the tool light for overhead and cabinet work. The listing quotes ten years of spare parts availability.
Within the DeWalt range
The DCD800NT and DCD805NT offer 90 Nm in compact bodies, the DCD805 with hammer action, but neither has interchangeable heads. The DCD799P2T kit gives 74 Nm with two 5 Ah packs. The DCK276P2 twin pack adds an impact driver for heavy screws. For tight space work, the DCD803KN is the specialist choice.
Its 73 Nm also means it is not a lightweight gadget: with the chuck fitted, it can handle most of the drilling a general purpose drill driver would do, so for many fitters it could be the only drill they carry.
Verdict
Buy the DCD803KN if you own DeWalt XR batteries and regularly work in cabinets, between joists or close to walls where a standard drill cannot reach. If you need masonry drilling, the DCD805NT is the better fit, and the DCD799P2T kit suits buyers without batteries.
