This bundle takes Bosch's compact GSB 12V-35 combi drill kit and adds a 32 piece screwdriver bit set. It is aimed at installers, flat owners and anyone buying their first proper drill who wants bits in the box. The reason to pick it over other compact drills is that it is ready to work straight away: two batteries, a charger, an L-BOXX and the common screw bits you need for fixing work.

Our take

Hammer drilling in a 12 V body

Bosch states an impact rate of up to 26,250 blows per minute, which it calls the highest in the 12 V category. That lets the drill bore holes up to 10 mm in masonry, the size of most standard wall plugs for shelves and brackets. The quoted speed is 1,750 rpm.

This particular listing does not give torque or weight. The plain kit listing for the same drill gives 35 Nm, so expect the same tool, but treat that as something to confirm rather than a stated figure here.

The bit set and storage

The 32 bits have 1/4 inch hex shanks for drill drivers and screwdrivers, and Bosch describes them as suited to common screwdriving and installation tasks. The case has a transparent lid and its own belt clip, so you can carry the bits at your waist while working on a ladder.

The drill kit itself comes with two GBA 3.0 Ah batteries, a GAL 12V-40 charger, a belt clip, a bit holder and an L-BOXX 102 with two half inlays, one for the tool and charger and one for accessories.

Among the compact drills

The Milwaukee M12 FDDX is a 12 V drill driver with four interchangeable heads, handy for cabinet work, but it has no hammer mode, so it cannot replace this Bosch for wall plugs. The Makita DHP483Z offers 18 V brushless power at 726 g, but you have to supply batteries and a charger.

The DeWalt DCD805NT rates 90 Nm, which is far more than a 12 V drill, but it is also bare and larger. For a compact all in one kit, the Bosch remains the more complete package.

Where it falls short

A 10 mm masonry limit means larger frame fixings and anchor bolts need another tool. Bosch 12 V packs also do not cross over to the 18 V range, which matters if you plan to add bigger tools later.

Verdict

Buy this bundle if you want a small Bosch combi drill with batteries, charger, case and a bit set in a single purchase for home and installation work. If you need more power, the DeWalt DCD805NT or Makita DHP483Z suit existing 18 V owners, and the Milwaukee M12 FDDX is better for cabinet fitting without masonry.
