Our take
Motor, speed and mounting
Fein lists a 350 W motor with a speed range of 10,000 to 19,500 oscillations per minute. A wide speed range lets you slow down for plastics and fine sanding and speed up for fast plunge cuts in timber. An anti-vibration system is also listed, which matters on a tool you may hold for long periods.
The StarlockPlus mount with QuickIN tool changes means accessories lock in without tools. StarlockPlus sits above the basic Starlock class and is meant for demanding cuts.
The accessory set
Amazon lists E-Cut long life blades in 10, 35 and 65 mm widths, an E-Cut Carbide Pro blade, a carbide saw blade of 75 mm diameter and more. The total exceeds 30 pieces. That covers flush cutting door linings, plunge cutting for sockets in boards, cutting nails and screws, and carbide work on grout and abrasives.
Buying a similar spread of blades separately would add up quickly, so the kit makes sense for anyone starting fresh.
Corded advantages and limits
A corded tool never runs flat, which suits long sessions of grout removal or sanding. You do need a socket or extension lead, which is less convenient in a roof space or outdoors. The listing does not state the oscillation angle, a figure that affects cutting speed.
Fein cordless and other options
The Fein AMM 500 Plus Top is the cordless sibling on AMPShare batteries, also with over 30 accessories but sold without a pack. The Bosch GOP 18V-34 lists a 3.4 degree oscillation angle on Starlock. The Metabo MT 18 LTX BL QSL is a brushless cordless tool with a wider 8,000 to 20,000 speed range, sold bare.
Verdict
Buy the MM 500 Plus Top if you want a corded multi-tool that never runs out of power and a large accessory set for renovation work. For cordless freedom, the Fein AMM 500 Plus Top is the matching tool for AMPShare users, and the Bosch GOP 18V-34 suits Bosch 18 V owners.
