This Einhell bundle is a garden first kit: a cordless multifunction tool with a hedge trimmer and a pruning saw head, plus a starter kit of two 18 V 4.0 Ah Power X-Change batteries and a twin charger. It is for home owners with tall hedges and trees who want one reach tool for both. Our take
The multifunction tool
Einhell describes a 2 in 1 tool with a hedge trimmer and a power saw attachment. A telescopic arm extends reach, the motor head tilts to seven positions, and the attachment swivels 90 degrees for horizontal cuts along the top of a hedge. The handles adjust for comfort.
The saw uses an Oregon bar and chain with a claw stop and chain catch bolt, automatic chain lubrication and tool free chain changes. The trimmer blades are laser cut and diamond polished, which Einhell says gives a clean cut and long life.
The battery starter kit
Two 4.0 Ah PXC packs and a high speed twin charger are included, so both can charge at once. A 3 step LED display shows the charge level, and Einhell says the housing resists dust, corrosion and knocks. The packs work across the Power X-Change range, which covers garden and DIY tools.
Four amp hour packs are a sensible size for a pole tool, giving more run time than the 1.5 Ah packs in the Ryobi garden bundles.
Practical use and safety
A pole tool lets you trim the top of a tall hedge or cut a branch overhead from the ground, avoiding a ladder. That is safer, but the weight at the end of a long pole is tiring, so work in short sessions. Wear eye protection and a helmet when cutting overhead, and keep a firm footing.

Compared with the Ryobi bundles
The Ryobi R18PD3 bundle with the OPT1845 pole hedge trimmer adds a combi drill but only two 1.5 Ah packs. The Ryobi R18PD3 bundle with the OCS1830 chainsaw has a 30 cm bar for logs. If you want a drill too, one of the Ryobi kits makes sense; for garden work alone, the Einhell has the better batteries.
Verdict
Pick this Einhell kit if your priority is trimming hedges and pruning trees from the ground and you want decent 4 Ah batteries included. If you also need a drill, the Ryobi R18PD3 and OPT1845 bundle covers both, and the Ryobi chainsaw bundle suits log cutting.
