The DCD800NT is a compact DeWalt XR drill driver sold as a bare unit for people who already own DeWalt 18 V batteries. It is aimed at joiners, kitchen fitters and installers who drive screws and drill timber and metal all day. What sets it apart in our DeWalt comparison is 90 Nm of torque in a compact body, the same figure as the DCD805, but in a drill aimed mainly at driving and drilling rather than masonry.

Our take
Listed features
DeWalt lists a brushless motor, a 3 mode foot LED that pivots, 15 torque settings for consistent screw driving, a steel belt hook and a magnetic bit holder. The spec table gives 90 Nm, two speeds, a 13 mm chuck, and capacities of 13 mm in wood and metal. The listed weight is 1.6 kg without a battery.
Some fields are unreliable, such as 2,000 rev per month and 180 rpm. The two speed gearbox and 90 Nm figure are consistent across the listing.
Hammer or not
The title calls this a hammer drill driver, yet the bullets describe a drill driver and the spec table lists a basic drill. That conflict matters if you need to drill brick. If masonry drilling is important, the DCD805NT's listing describes a hammer function more clearly. For timber, metal and screws, the DCD800NT will do the job either way.
Bare unit considerations
No battery, charger or case is included. With an XR pack you already own, it is ready to work. For long days, a 5 Ah pack gives plenty of run time, while a 2 Ah pack keeps the tool lighter for overhead work. Unlike the DCD805NT listing, this one does not mention a TSTAK box, so check what packaging you will receive.
Within the DeWalt range
The DCD805NT is the compact hammer drill with the same 90 Nm, sold in a TSTAK box. The DCD996P2 is the full size three speed combi kit at 95 Nm with two 5 Ah packs. The DCD799P2T is a compact 74 Nm kit with batteries. The DCD803KN multi-head driver suits cabinet work with swappable heads.
Verdict
Buy the DCD800NT if you own DeWalt XR batteries and want a compact, high torque drill driver for timber, metal and screws. If you drill masonry often, the DCD805NT is the clearer hammer choice, and buyers without batteries should look at the DCD799P2T or DCD996P2 kits.
