This DeWalt bundle pairs two bare XR tools: the DCS356N brushless oscillating multi-tool and the DCF887N three speed impact driver. It is for DeWalt XR owners who want to add both to their kit in one purchase. What sets it apart in our multi-tool guide is that second tool, since no other listing here includes an impact driver alongside the multi-tool.

Our take
The DCS356N multi-tool
DeWalt lists a compact brushless motor with 0 to 20,000 oscillations per minute, variable speed, a soft start and a dual grip position. Soft start stops the blade jumping when you begin a plunge cut, which helps accuracy. The rubber overmould and ergonomic handle are designed for comfort over long periods.
The listing gives a weight of 1.24 kg. It does not state the blade mount or oscillation angle, so confirm which accessories fit before buying blades.
The DCF887N impact driver
The title names the driver as a three speed brushless XR model. The listing gives a maximum bolt diameter of M12, but no torque or speed figures. Three speeds let you pick a gentle setting for small screws and a full power setting for long ones, which a single speed driver cannot do as easily.
This is the same driver model that appears in the DeWalt DCK276P2 twin pack.
Batteries and accessories
Both tools are bare. No battery, charger or accessories are listed, so you will need XR packs and at least a starter set of multi-tool blades. DeWalt says the packs are interchangeable with over 30 tools in the XR system.
If you have no DeWalt packs, this bundle will need a significant extra outlay before either tool can work.
When this bundle makes sense
If you already own an XR drill and want to add both a multi-tool and an impact driver, buying them together is convenient. If you only need a multi-tool, the bare Metabo MT 18 LTX BL QSL, Bosch GOP 18V-34 or HiKOKI CV18DMA may suit, depending on your brand. For a multi-tool with accessories, the Makita DTM52ZJX2 or Fein AMM 500 Plus Top come with kits.
Verdict
Buy the DCS356N and DCF887N bundle if you are a DeWalt XR user who wants both a multi-tool and an impact driver without duplicating batteries. If you need only a multi-tool, choose a single tool from your own battery brand, and if you want accessories in the box, look at the Fein AMM 500 Plus Top.
