The GSR 18V-110 C is Bosch Professional's strongest 18 V drill driver, and it is unusual because it has no hammer action at all. Instead it puts 110 Nm through a full metal chuck, which makes it a serious tool for augers, hole saws and long screws in timber and steel. It suits joiners, roofers and installers on the Bosch 18 V system who keep a separate SDS drill for masonry.

  • A full metal chuck is listed for durability on demanding site work.
  • Optional Bluetooth connectivity lets you adjust tool settings from a smartphone.

Good to know

  • Sold without battery or charger, so it suits existing Bosch 18 V owners.
  • The listed weight of 2 kg is heavy for a drill driver used overhead.

Our take

Torque without the hammer

Bosch lists 110 Nm of maximum torque from a brushless motor and a top speed of 2,100 rpm. Wood capacity is given as 30 mm and steel as 15 mm in the specs. For a drill driver, those are big numbers, putting it alongside the strongest combi drills in raw turning force.

Dropping the hammer mechanism shortens the gearbox a little and removes a part that can wear. If you rarely drill brick, there is no real downside, and the tool will feel more solid when driving large fixings.

Chuck, handle and connectivity

A full metal chuck is listed for durability on the jobsite, and an auxiliary handle is included. At 110 Nm that handle matters: a large auger catching a knot can twist the tool hard, and the second hand gives you control.

Bluetooth connectivity is optional and lets you connect to a smartphone for extra tool control. That is useful for fleet management or fine tuning settings, but the drill works perfectly well without it.

Batteries and storage

This listing is a bare tool in an L-BOXX 136, with no battery or charger. The listed weight is 2 kg, and a large ProCORE battery will add to that. If you already own Bosch 18 V packs, the L-BOXX keeps the drill tidy and stacks with your other cases. If you are new to Bosch, the cost of batteries and a charger needs to go into the comparison.

Against other drill drivers

The HiKOKI DS18DC lists more torque at 140 Nm and comes as a full kit with two 5.0 Ah packs. The DeWalt DCD803 multi head model is far more flexible in tight spaces but offers 73 Nm. The Bosch is the one to choose if you are already on the blue platform and want the strongest straight drill driver it makes.

Verdict

Buy the GSR 18V-110 C if you run Bosch 18 V batteries and want a powerful, robust drill driver for timber and metal without a hammer you do not use. If you need a complete kit, the HiKOKI DS18DC is ready to go, and for cramped cabinets and joists the DeWalt DCD803 is the better shape.
