The DCK276P2 is a long running DeWalt pairing that puts the three speed DCD996 combi drill next to the DCF887 impact driver. It is for trades and committed DIYers who want two XR brushless tools and two 5.0 Ah packs in one purchase. The thing that sets it apart is the case: a TOUGHSYSTEM DS150 box rather than a soft bag or a basic carry case.

In its favour
- The DCD996 drill is listed at 95 Nm, enough for large augers and hole saws.
- Two 5.0 Ah batteries and a multi-voltage XR charger are included.
- Comes in a TOUGHSYSTEM DS150 box that stacks with DeWalt storage.
Good to know
- The listing does not give the impact driver's torque or speeds.
- The boxed kit weighs 7.66 kg according to the listing, so it is bulky to carry.
Our take
Box contents per the listing
Amazon lists one DCD996 XR brushless combi drill, one DCF887 XR brushless impact driver, two 18 V 5.0 Ah lithium ion packs, a DCB105 multi-voltage charger covering 10.8 to 18 V packs, a DS150 toolbox, two belt clips and a side handle for the drill. That side handle matters if you run large hole saws, because it gives you a second point of control when a bit snags.
The listing states a one year manufacturer warranty and a boxed weight of 7.66 kg. That is heavy for a two tool kit, largely down to the toolbox and the two large batteries.
Torque figures and what is missing
The only torque number given is 95 Nm, and that belongs to the DCD996 drill. The DCF887 driver has no torque or speed figure in this listing, so anyone comparing drivers by numbers will have to look up the DeWalt spec sheet. The drill side is clear enough: 95 Nm with three mechanical speeds covers augers, masonry bits and long screws.
Without a stated driver figure, it is hard to rank this pair against the Bosch GSB 18V-110 C and GDR 18V-210 C kit, whose listing gives 210 Nm for its driver. Treat the DeWalt as a known quantity rather than a spec sheet winner.
Where it sits in the DeWalt XR range
Compared with buying the DeWalt DCD996P2 drill kit alone, this set adds the driver and keeps the same battery count, which makes it the better route if you would buy a driver anyway. Both tools carry the XR name, so the two large packs should serve any other XR tool you add, though the listing itself does not spell that out.
Against the Milwaukee M18FID2 driver kit in the impact driver guide, the DeWalt gives you a drill as well but tells you far less about the driver's output.
Not ideal for
Apartment dwellers with limited storage and anyone carrying tools up ladders all day may find the boxed weight a burden. Light household users would be better served by a 12 V pair.
Verdict
Choose the DCK276P2 if you want a DeWalt drill and driver pairing with big batteries and a sturdy toolbox. If you need documented driver torque, the Bosch GSB 18V-110 C and GDR 18V-210 C set is clearer on paper, and the Bosch 12 V set suits light home duties better.
