Bosch's GTM 12 JL is a combination saw that works as both a mitre saw and a table saw, sold here with the GTA 2600 stand. It is for joiners and serious DIYers who want two functions in one machine, at a proper working height. The point of difference is size: a 305 mm blade gives up to 95 mm of cutting depth in mitre mode, deeper than most dedicated mitre saws in our guides.

Blade
305 mm
Power
240 V, 1,800 W
Max cut depth
51 mm as table saw (95 mm as mitre saw)
Stand
GTA 2600 stand included

In its favour

  • Combines table saw and mitre saw functions in one tool, according to Bosch.
  • Integrated laser and a 1,800 W motor are listed.
  • The GTA 2600 stand is included in the bundle for long workpieces.

Good to know

  • Only 51 mm cutting height in table saw mode, so thick rips are limited.
  • A large, heavy setup, listed at 36.4 kg with the stand.

Our take

Two modes, two depths

Bosch lists a cutting depth up to 95 mm in mitre function and a cutting height up to 51 mm in table saw function. In mitre mode, that handles thick posts and joists. In table mode, 51 mm limits ripping to boards and sheet material rather than thick timber, so it is best seen as a mitre saw with a useful table function.

An integrated laser shows the cut line, and the motor is rated at 1,800 W.

The GTA 2600 stand

The bundle includes the GTA 2600 stand, which raises the saw to a comfortable height and supports long lengths. The listing gives 36.4 kg for the set, so it is a substantial machine, better left set up in a workshop or garage than moved daily.

Listing errors to ignore

Several spec fields are clearly wrong, including 3.8 rpm, five teeth and a 40 cm blade length. The title states a 305 mm blade, which is the figure to trust. The bevel is listed up to 48 degrees.

The listing does not describe dust extraction, the rip fence or which blade is fitted, so check Bosch's documents for those details.

Alternatives

The Makita LH1040/2 is a smaller 260 mm table and mitre saw with a brake but no stand. For dedicated table sawing, the Evolution R255TBL+ cuts 85 mm and the Bosch GTS 70-216 rips 635 mm. For dedicated mitre work, the Metabo KGS 254 M lists 92 mm depth on a sliding saw.

If floor space is tight, the combination format saves room compared with owning a separate table saw and mitre saw, which is the main reason to choose it.

Verdict

Choose the GTM 12 JL with GTA 2600 if you want one large machine for deep mitre cuts and light table sawing, set up on a stand. If table saw work is your priority, the Evolution R255TBL+ or Bosch GTS 70-216 cut deeper rips, and the Makita LH1040/2 is the smaller combination saw.
